More Birmingham info
Birmingham City was formed in 1875 as 'Small Heath Alliance', finally becoming Birmingham City F.C. in 1943. One claim to fame is that as Small Heath, they were founder members and first ever champions of the Football League Second Division. So far Birmingham's most successful period was in the 1950s and early 1960s (winning their only major trophy, the League Cup, in 1963). Birmingham's fiercest rival is Aston Villa.
